About

Mission

'Forming disciples fully alive in Christ Jesus'

CDC is a nine month immersion in faith, formation and fellowship

for those desiring to go deeper in their friendship with Jesus Christ.

The formation offered at CDC includes personal studies,

regular classes by specialist lecturers, spiritual direction,

pilgrimages, retreats and conferences.

Students share household tasks and leadership,

and take part in outreach missions and recreation activities.

The Fruits

11 years on from the opening of CDC our 68 students are
already making an impact on the life of the Church in New
Zealand. 14 past staff and students have spent time in
religious or priestly formation; 4 are currently in religious
communities, 2 are in seminary and 1 is a Marist priest. At
least 12 past students are married, some with as many as
five children, some newly married.

Other past students are involved in their parish
communities, running RCIA, singing in choirs, active in youth
ministry, involved in the charismatic movement, leading
Legion of Mary chapters, members of the Marist laity and
working for the Church in many other ways.

(2017 statistics)

"My time at CDC was like no other in my life. It's amazing to see how if we just give a tiny bit of time from our life to Christ, in order to grow in truth and love of Him, He gives us so much more in return. Of course it is a challenge, but through this He gives us so much grace, so much mercy and love, and it is the most beautiful thing to experience."

Jacob Fransen, Alumni Student 2015

"We never fully understand how much God has given to us, but the time set aside at CDC to spend in silent prayer, community life and mission really helped me come to appreciate God's love."

Deacon Matt Gibson, Alumni Student 2011
